Description
Leadenhall Market in the heart of the City of London is one of the oldest and most famous markets In London. It is usually packed with tourists and city workers during the week, but I got this shot of it empty on a Saturday evening. Leadenhall Market was used as a filming location for the area of London near the leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley in the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It has also featured in other films, including The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Hereafter, Brannigan, and Love Aaj Kal.
Leadenhall Market dates from the 14th century and stands at the centre of the old Roman city of London. It is now in the middle of London's financial district.
